7 Days of being Holy

Visita Iglesia is a practice done by Filipinos wherein they visit at least 7 churches. "One church equals two Stations of the Cross" is the commonly used strategy used by Filipinos. It is either done on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday of the Holy Week and the Holy Week is the sixth and last week of Lent, beginning with Palm Sunday and concluding on Holy Saturday.

Although our Visita Iglesia this year was a bit different than the past years. We only made it to one church because we didn’t have much time in our hands. But me and my mother always recited the rosary for the whole Holy Week every afternoon to celebrate it. I’ve also heard from my mother during Holy Week that to determine Easter is that after the full moon of April (mostly called the Paschal Full Moon), if it is on a Sunday then Easter will be on the following Sunday. Pretty cool that until now, we use moon phases to determine dates, just like our ancestors. We had a fun time during the Holy Week and the Visita Iglesia this year.

This Holy Week and Visita Iglesia has been fun to celebrate. You learn new things and also try to experience what hasn’t yet been experienced during the week. You make new discoveries along the way while celebrating the Holy Week. Visita Iglesia really lets us remember Christ’s journey from condemned to death to where he is laid in the tomb.

Guess this is it!

I vaguely remember the first quarter of the school year, maybe because it was filled with class issues in the ICT room. But as time has passed, the class grew together more and lessons inside that room were more entertaining. I can’t believe that this is my last reflection for this school year, the last performance task I’m passing to the teacher. For this last reflection, I thank all of the very important people that have contributed for this school year. My teachers, friends, and families. I’ve reflected a lot of my flaws and have tried to make myself a better person in both my academic and social lives. It has really been a great opportunity to hold the name SSC for 4 consecutive years, my whole junior high school life. It has been an honor to serve this school best. As I reflect all of my actions, I wish that I could have done more in those 4 years, especially this year since it’s post-pandemic. This years has taught me a lot of things, and one thing that will always be with ...

Me, in 10 years.

In the next 10 years, I aspire to work in a healthcare facility where I can apply my knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care to patients. Whether it's in a hospital, nursing home, or community health center, I want to be a part of a team that is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of others. As a soon-to-be nurse, I see myself in a position where I can make a real difference in people's lives. I am driven by the desire to help others, and I believe that nursing is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling careers out there. To achieve my goal of becoming a nurse, I am going to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at a good university. I am also going to take advantage of any opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the field, such as volunteering at local hospitals and clinics, and shadowing nurses in different settings. As a soon-to-be nurse, I also hope to continue learning and growing in my profession. I plan to pursue advance...

ONCE UPON A YEAR

Held every 25th of January, the Vigan Festival. It is also celebrated on the day of the Conversion of St. Paul. Many celebrations are made and one is the “CARNAVAL” which everyone adores. See the smiles of every little child as they ride in fun rides! The colourful attractions that take people’s attention to go and ride them.   You can find a lot of other events during this time of the month but this event is one that you shouldn't miss. It is very worth it to attend and to make memories! This is a nice time of the month to visit Vigan.
